SELECTBIO Conferences Academic Screening Workshop

Academic Screening Workshop

Keynote Speakers

Hakim Djaballah
CEO, Institute Pasteur - Korea

Overview

This interactive forum will give delegates the opportunity to learn as well as share experiences about drug discovery in general, academic screening operations, academia-industry collaborative efforts, and recent trends from the industry service-providers for HTS, chemical libraries, high content screening and RNAi technologies. Organised by Dr Hakim Djaballah, director of the HTS facility at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, our 2nd annual Academic Screening Workshop will take place in Baltimore, USA.  Whether delegates are looking to expand their basic knowledge or requiring more of an insight to aid and foster future collaborations, this workshop is highly recommended to anyone working or has an interest in discovery and technology development.

The workshop aims to help energize the discovery paradigm through open panel discussions on highly provocative topics such as the future of academic screening operations post the NIH Roadmap and should academia be doing drug discovery? It is hoped that through these kind of open discussions, delegates will have the opportunity to build their own consensus and bring their points of view across. The field is seeking new ideas and inputs to discover novel or repurpose known drugs to fight disease whether in a pharmaceutical or academic setting. This will be possible through innovative technologies provided by companies such as Cellectricon or Prestwick dedicated to supporting the discovery paradigm across various disciplines.

We look forward to welcoming you to our 2nd Annual Academic Screening Workshop and we hope the two days will be both enjoyable and informative.
