Mei ElGindi,
Research Associate
Mei ElGindi is a Research Associate in the department of Engineering at NYUAD. She has 10 years of experience working in a variety of biological research fields, ranging from pathogenic fungi biofilm formation to 3D cell culture of immune cells and microgravity. Currently, her research focus is on studying the responses of immune cells to a 3D microenvironment as well as exposure to simulated microgravity. The latter is used not only to study potential advancements for astronauts going to space, but also to mimic aging on Earth. In the recent years, she has the first studies on Dendritic Cell-T cell interaction in 3D matrices exposed to simulated microgravity using engineered microvessels.
