Christophe Vedrine's Biography

Christophe Vedrine, Head of biological microsystems and advanced optics engineering unit

Christophe Vedrine is currently head of the biological microsystems and advanced optics engineering unit at BIOASTER (a Technology Research Institute dedicated to collaborative research and public-private partnerships in Infectious Disease and Microbiology). He develops new technologies in the field of micro-fluidics (droplet based and continuous flow microfluidics) and advanced optics (Raman spectroscopy and holographic microscopy). From 2008 to 2014, he was project leader at Bio-Rad. He was responsible for the development of new multiplex serological diagnostic kits in virology. Luminex assays and micro-array assays were developed to propose to diagnostic laboratories new multiplex kits on an automated platform for simultaneous serological screening of HIV, Hepatitis B and C infections. In 2004, he joined CNAM analytical chemistry team as associate professor. He developed new bio-analytical methods and technologies: Whole cell, DNA and label-free biosensors. He set up and managed several academic and industrial collaborations.
