Amanda Evans's Biography

Amanda Evans, Assistant Professor

Dr. Evans received her Ph.D. in organic synthesis from the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Professor Steven Ley. She was subsequently appointed as a Teaching Fellow and Director of Studies in Chemistry at Murray Edwards College, University of Cambridge while she pursued interdisciplinary research interests in the Departments of Chemistry and Physics as a postdoctoral research associate. These interests remain diverse as she has performed postdoctoral research in the fields of microfluidic synthesis, asymmetric prebiotic chemistry, DNA nanotechnology, and polymeric materials (University of Cambridge, University of Nice - Sophia Antipolice, University of Padova). She has been a RSC JWT Fellowship recipient and held a Visiting Professorship at the University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis prior to accepting her current post. Dr. Evans recently joined California State University Fullerton in 2014 as an Assistant Professor – Bio-Organic Chemistry. Her research group uses continuous processing and bioprocessing technologies to perform chemical synthesis. In 2015, she was awarded an American Chemical Society Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable Research Grant on “Enz–Flow/Continuous Bioprocessing: Towards a green continuous flow synthesis of levomilnacipran”.
