Grant Cropper's Biography



Grant Cropper, Environmental Compliance and Training Manager

Grant currently works as a crisis manager with the award winning risk management company red24. His role with red24 involves supporting clients on a global scale (Europe, United States, Australasia and the Middle East) in their attempts to ensure that food safety assurance exists as a high priority thus ensuring that the protection of public health is paramount at all times. His role with red24 builds on his earlier diverse experience attained working in the field of environmental health. This role provided the ideal basis to gain an insight into the challenges faced by food businesses adopting strategies to ensure food safety compliance.
As an experienced consultant, Grant has encouraged performance improvement, driving operational efficiency and influencing bottom line business success through strong risk management, project planning and process management skills.
Invited to work as part of the University of Salford team responsible for the development and implementation of food safety management systems (Safer Food Better Business), Grant was specifically tasked with supporting Asian business owners and HACCP co-ordinators responsible for food safety management systems in care home settings.
Academically, Grant holds MSc degrees in Public and Environmental Health, Occupational Safety and Health together with postgraduate qualifications in Education. More recently, Grant has worked closely with the Business School at the University of Salford in developing a postgraduate MSc degree in Risk and Crisis Management. This has been designed to concentrate on the threats and vulnerabilities currently facing the food industry. From his own perspective Grant possesses a keen interest in crisis preparedness of food businesses to the threat of bioterrorism.
