Muriel Breteau,
Technical Applications Specialist
Dr Muriel Breteau holds a master of Science in Biotechnology from École Supérieure de Biotechnologie, France and a Doctorate in Microbiology from the University of Warwick. During her PhD she worked on the development of phage therapy, which involved the isolation and characterisation of suitable bacteriophages phenotypically and genetically. At that time she became interested in the potential of molecular biology and genomics for identifying markers and other characteristics with possible therapeutic applications in bacteria or phages as well as in eukaryotic cells. Muriel Breteau is an Applications Biologist for Dolomite Bio, part of the Blacktrace group of companies. She is responsible for identifying and developing applications and optimising technologies for a range of single-cell microfluidic encapsulation products for single cell profiling.
