Alex Groisman's Biography



Alex Groisman, Associate Professor

Dr. Alex Groisman received his PhD in Physics from the Weizmann Institute in Israel in 2000. He did a postdoc in Applied Physics at Caltech, and in 2002 joined UCSD as a faculty in Physics. Dr. Groisman’s research interests include fluid mechanics, biophysics, and microfluidics and its applications to the applied and basic research in protein folding, cell cultures, circulation of blood, directed migration of cells, and mechanobiology. Dr. Groisman has also been working on the development of silicone gel substrates for experiments and assays on rigidity sensing by adherent cells and cell traction force microscopy.
