Yasutomo Nasu, Professor

Yasutomo Nasu, M.D., Ph.D. (TOMO) is a professor and chairman of Urology and also Executive Director for Research at Okayama University. He serves as a board director member of Japanese Society of Gene Therapy (JSGT, President 2017), Japanese Society of Endourology(JSE, President elect 2020). His major research interest is a promotion of translational research (TR) in the field of urology such as gene therapy and cell therapy. His research carrier on TR started as a fellow of Baylor College of Medicine with Peter T. Scardino and has many international research projects. He is a principal or co-principal investigator of multiple gene therapy trials and international grant projects. His clinical interests are uro-oncology, minimally invasive treatments including brachytherapy and robotic surgery.
