| | 10:15 | | Keynote Presentation Advanced Techniques in Mass Spectrometry Juergen Schaefer, Mass Spectrometry Lab Head, Sanofi, Germany
In this Keynote Presentation, development of MS based new quantitation methods will be discussed. It will also mention how these methods enable peptide and protein profiling of human samples in order to detect biological variations.Further, it will also highlight the application of Mass Spectrometry for Drug Development. |
| 11:00 | | Keynote Presentation Recent Developments of Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry in the Study of Sequence and Structures of Biological Macromolecules Shyamalava Mazumdar, Senior Professor (I), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India
In this Keynote Talk, recent developments and emerging directions in the area of ESI and Tandem Mass Spectrometry will be discussed. It will highlight the mechanism of formation of charged gaseous species by ESI and implications of the multiple charge states as observed in ESI-mass spectra of the peptides and proteins. Further, it will also mention about tandem mass spectrometric techniques that helps in deriving important insights on the structural properties of the macromolecules and for sequence identification of peptides. |

| | 12:20 | Nanocluster as Energy Bank for Generation of Multiply Charged Atomic Ions Rajesh K Vatsa, Professor and Head, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, India
In this presentation, a simple way of generating highly charged ions using atomic and molecular Van der Waals nanoclusters will be discussed. Further, it will highlight the experimental results that show that by appropriate selection of the ionizing conditions, ion yields can be enhanced by a factor 100. Time-of-flight mass spectrometry and total chare density measurement results will be presented and discussed in the light of transient nanoplasma formation during laser-matter interaction. | 12:55 | Recent Progress in TOF-SIMS Analysis Anil Ghule, Professor, Shivaji University, India
This presentation is focused on demonstrating the utility of TOF-SIMS as an advanced characterization tool for analysis of wide variety of samples including nano-material analysis. Method development and analysis of wide variety of samples would be discussed in detail along with the sample preparation and methods employed. It will further discuss about Depth profiling and 3D imaging capabilities of TOF-SIMS to understand the distribution of the metal ions and nanoparticles in the samples. This talk will also introduce new avenues in research using TOF-SIMS. | 13:30 | Lunch Break | | Session 3: Quantification of Biomolecules by Mass Spectrometry |
