Developing Human and Human-like Antibodies for Biodefense
Michael Hust, Professor, Technical University of Braunschweig
The development of human and macaque antibodies against category A and B classified viruses and toxins using phage display will be presented. Detailed examples will be given for diagnostic and neutralisation of alphaviruses (Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus and Western equine encephalitis virus ), the filovirus Marburg virus and botulinum toxins. In addition, the germline humanization of the anti-botulinum toxin antibodies will be outlined.
