Centrifugation and Liquid Handling plays a pivotal role in drug discovery. The preparative centrifugation provides the molecules of interest in pure form and analytical ultracentrifugation will enable the scientist to characterize the molecules of interest. Automation eliminate human error not intelligence and add traceability to pipetting processes. Automating processes is now increasingly common in bio-pharma and biotech labs, but it is the bio-pharmaceutical industry that is most influential in driving this technology forward to meet up with the increasing demands for high-throughput screening of potential drug candidates. The advancement in sequencing technologies like Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) have led researchers to have whole genomes of potential drug targets at their disposal for testing against an array of drug candidates, and high-throughput automations have rapidly become a necessity.
