Abstract

The pharmaceutical world is constantly evolving with new insights & diverse applications on new or existing technology platforms. Hot-melt extrusion technology has started expanding its spectrum from being a mainstay of developing amorphous solid dispersion (& solubilisation) to more diverse applications, like modified release, taste masking, oral films and continuous granulation & manufacturing. This presentation would primarily focus on the contemporary opportunities of HME-based amorphous pharmaceuticals (API pre-mix) in Generics. The presentation will also provide case studies on diverse application areas of HME technology using cellulosic and acetylenic/VP polymers, those have started gaining momentum as rapidly evolving formulation development strategies.
