Abstract

Recently for the first time, we have shown that nucleolin1 which expresses in abundances in many of the cancers and could be a possible marker in diagnosis of some of the cancers, play a role in metabolism of lipids and fatty acids. Down regulation of nucleolin is associated with lower level of cholesterol while the amount of fatty acids is increased. Metabolism as being a hallmark of cancer is being explored rigorously  for various therapeutics and biomarkers.

The talk will highlight these perspective of metabolism in possible biomarkers and therapeutics for cancer highlighting some of the recent trends and possibilities.
