The rise of biotechnologies enable significant progress in drug development, paving the way for personalized medicine. Complex processes can benefit from microfluidic technologies, both at research and production scales. Indeed, microfluidics allow precise control of culture conditions, enable single-cell isolation, permit to sequence DNA, and can even be leveraged for cell engineering, facilitating the development of cell and gene therapies and monoclonal antibodies, among others.
