Liquid Biopsy – How Smart Microfluidics Addresses Absolute EV Quantification

The absolute quantification of extracellular vesicles and their clear characterization is pivotal to a successful use of EVs for IVD or as tool/vehicle for therapeutic drugs or cell-derived molecules. To-date, the first instruments emerge addressing the complex topic of EV analytics and understanding but through a joint research project led by the University of Salzburg (PLUS), “EVquant”, we seek to establish the use of smart microfluidics to support a facilitated and more sophisticated approach to the absolute quantification and identification of individual EVs.
