Generation of iPSC-derived 3D Neurospheres for Modeling Retroviral Infection and EV-mediated Repair
Heather Branscome, Post-Doctoral Scientist, George Mason University
We report the generation of iPSC-derived neurospheres and show that these cultures are permissive to HIV-1 infection. In addition, we examine the functional effects of stem cell extracellular vesicles (EVs) on HIV-1 infected neurospheres. Our data demonstrates the feasibility of iPSC-derived neurospheres for modeling HIV-1 infection and highlights the potential of stem cell EVs for rescuing cellular damage.
