Single-cell Imaging in Novel 3D Hydrodynamic Focusing Microfluidic Devices

Functional analysis of biological samples for diagnostic or research purposes often requires the isolation of small cell populations from heterogeneous cell mixtures. Important information about subcellular organization and cellular structures can be collected through single-cell imaging. In this work, we will present a simple microfluidic device capable of 3D hydrodynamic flow focusing and its applications in continuous-flow, live yeast cell imaging.
