“Big Data” – A Key to Personalized Medicine?

“Big Data” offers great promises both to industry and clinics. Systematic analysis of very large, multi-variate data sets is expected to be a powerful technology to enable personalized concepts of clinical therapy. However, the reality suffers from an apparent lack of reproducibility of the data resulting in a lack of reliability in the respective resulting in a lack of reliability for complex diseases.
