Sanjeev Gupta's Biography

Sanjeev Gupta, General Manager -Advanced Biotech Lab, Ipca Laboratories Ltd.

Dr Sanjeev Gupta has done M.Sc. in applied microbiology and Ph.D. in Microbial biotechnology. At present working as General Manager in Advanced Biotech Lab, Ipca Laboratories Ltd., Mumbai, and has established a new state of the art Biotech R&D facility for the development of mammalian based Biosimilar products.

He carries around 17 years of industrial experience and has been working on the development of recombinant therapeutic proteins including monoclonal antibodies since he started his career. His core expertise lies in the Molecular Biology, Cell Line, Upstream process development, Bio-analytical as well as GMP cell banking & characterization.

So far, he developed and contributed over ten recombinant molecules of which five Biosimilar products has been launched already in the Indian market and the rest is in the developmental or clinical phase, and expected to be launched in near future.

During his professional tenure, he worked at various position in reputed Indian biopharmaceuticals industries Zydus-Ahmedabad, Wockhardt-Aurangabad, Panacea -New Delhi, Intas-Ahmedabad and at present in Ipca Laboratories, Mumbai.
He presented his work in various national and international conferences such as IBC, Terrapin, IMAPAC, Biopharma and AMI etc.
He has also published Patent, Book chapters and Research articles in peer reviewed Journals in lieu of Biosimilar development.
