Xinghua Victor Pan,
Research Scientist,
Yale University
Dr Xinghua Pan,PhD, MD, Research Scientist, Department of Genetics, Yale University School of Medicine (2004- Present). Focusing on novel NGS technology for genome-wide functional studies, Dr. Pan has established up a series of approaches for single cells on genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics and telomere length analysis. He has also been applying these technologies in combination with other platforms especially NGS in translational medicine and variants of biological systems, with publications on PNAS, Cell, Nature, and so on, and with a series of patents issued. He was interviewed by PNAS Journal Club (2013) and GEN (Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology News) (2015) for his creative technologies. Prior to this position, he worked as a Research Scientist and Enzymology Leader at Molecular Staging Inc. (2000-2004), developed the world-wide used whole genome amplification technology, REPLIg, which was acquired by and now sold by Qiagen. He was trained as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University in USA, and also at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College (CAMS & PUMC) in Beijing, after he obtained his PhD from Fudan University in Shanghai and MD from the Southern Medical University in Guangzhou.
