Dr Araida is the Programme Leader for MMU's Integrated Master in Biomedical Science. Originally from Mexico, She moved to the UK to pursue a PhD in Tissue Engineering after years of working in the pharmaceutical and food industries in Mexico City. Dr Araida worked at the University of Nottingham, Keele University and the University of Manchester, before she joined MMU in May 2012 as a lecturer in Medical Cell Biology. Her area of expertise is regenerative medicine, which includes tissue engineering and biomedical imaging. She use adult human stem cells and biomaterials to develop grafts to treat bone, cardiac and dental diseases.Her specialities are 3D Bioprinting for Cardiovascular and Bone Tissue Engineering, mechanical and perfusion bioreactors, ECM hydrogels, magnetic particle labelling, microCT imaging, molecular techniques, validation of Lattice-Boltzmann math models for TEng, biomaterials characterisation and manufacture. Dr araida is STEM Ambassador Reviewer of the "Tissue Engineering Journal"Tissue and Cell Engineering Society (TCES) Board Member. she has many publications & book chapters to her credit.
