Amit Singhal's Biography

Amit Singhal, Senior Research Scientist, Agency for Science Technology & Research A*Star

Amit Singhal received his Ph.D. in immunology of infectious diseases from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India in 2006. After working as a postdoctoral fellow at Institute Pasteur, Brussels and Novartis Institute of Tropical Disease, Singapore he moved to Singapore Immunology Network, A*Star in 2010. Amit has focused on developing new animal models for bacterial infections, which can be used for better understanding of disease pathology and host-pathogen interactions. Currently he is leading tuberculosis work at SIgN where main emphasis is on biomarker discovery and developing novel diagnostics tools & therapeutic strategies to be used against mycobacteria.
