V Kumaran's Biography

V Kumaran, Professor, Indian Institute Of Science

Prof. V. Kumaran is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. His research interests include hydrodynamic instability and the transition to turbulence,flow and mixing in micro-fluidic devices, dynamics of complex fluids including polymer and surfactant systems, granular flows and rarefied gas dynamics. He is the recipient of several awards and honours including the Swarnajayanti Fellowship and the Bhatnagar Prize of the Government of India. He is a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Science, the Indian National Science Academy and the Indian National Academy
of Engineering.
