Debnath Pal is an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. In this role, Prof. Pal supervises a large set of students engaged in graduate studies and extramural funded research, spanning science and engineering disciplines. He is engaged in teaching topics in genomics, proteomics, computational biology and cheminformatics. He collaborates with partners from medical hospitals, national and international academia and government agencies. Prof. Pal has more than 15 years of academic experience in executing research projects encompassing areas such as computational biology, bioinformatics, cheminformatics, structural biology, and Omics. He is the author or coauthor of more than 40 international publications and is in process of filing a patent. He has served as reviewer to more than a dozen high-impact research journals. Prof. Pal currently serves as the vice president of the Alexander von Humboldt Association, Bangalore and is member of several professional and academic bodies in India and abroad. He has received national and international awards, the most recent being the NASI-SCOPUS young scientist award from the National Academy of Science and Elsevier-Reed Corporation. He received his Masters in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and his Ph.D. in Structural Bioinformatics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.
