The Talk will highlight the issue of Abiotic stresses in Plants which prevents them from realizing their full genetic potential. Further, it will emphasize how the development of crop plants tolerant to various abiotic stresses is essential to meet the world’s escalating food demands as well as moving towards sustainable methods of agriculture. It will specifically focus on the usage genetic engineering approach in rice, cotton and wheat using genes like osmoprotectants, cytokinin pathway, LEA, membrane proteins and different transcription factors etc.
