Billy Asir, Product Specialist, Beckman Coulter India Pvt Ltd

Mr Billy Asir obtained his M.Phil. (Endocrinology) from the University of Madras. He has 15 years of research experience and has worked in disciplines of Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Strain Engineering and Discovery Bio analysis (DMPK). He has experience working in Pharma, Biotech and in CRO setup. Some of the companies he has worked earlier are Orchid Pharma, Syngene International and Invitrogen. He has a patent to his credit and is the co-inventor for the patent ‘modified expandase enzyme and its use’. Currently he is associated with Beckman Coulter India as product specialist automating Life Science work flows since 2014.
He has passion for automation and has automated several genomics and early drug discovery work flows. The genomics workflow he has automated include PCR, ELISA, hit-picking, nucleic acid purification and Next-Gen Sequencing. Some of the drug discovery workflow he has automated includes Cyp Inhibition, microsomal stability, Cell based toxicity assays and sample preparation for LC-MS/MS analysis.
