Kannan Krishnamoorthy's Biography

Kannan Krishnamoorthy, Professor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University

Prof. K. Kannan has been regarded, as one of the pioneers of Biotechnology in India and his contributions has been significant in Nagaland University, GGS Indraprastha University, School education, University education, Industry and National laboratories of CSIR. Internationally acknowledged for establishing the first evidence for the Extra cellular role for Ubiquitin in haematopoiesis (blood cell formation from Stem Cells in the body).Established his credentials of proven administrative, and leadership qualities by completing his full five year tenure as Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University (#rd August 2006 to 2nd August 2011).Currently he is Professor of Biotechnology at the GGS Indraprastha University, New Delhi. He is recipient of many awards and honors. He has several publications to his credit and has also given invited talks in various national and international conferences.
