Giancarlo Basile's Biography

Giancarlo Basile, Editor in Chief, Current Research in Drug Discovery

Dr. Basile holds a M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. With his fifteen years of industrial experience in the field of laboratory automation, molecular biology and drug discovery, he has worked in both pharma and biotech companies. Dr. Basile currently is the Editor-In-Chief of Molecular Biotechnology and Current Research In Drug Discovery as well as being a former editorial board member for Journal of Biomolecular Screening. As senior scientist for Tecnogen he was involved in the generation of new inhibitors and allosteric modulators of protein-protein interaction, implementing the automation workflow of several biochemical and cellular assays. Later, as head of high throughput screening for Exelgen, he was involved in biochemical and cellular assay setup and validation. At present, with his expertise, Dr Basile is Tecan specialist for Liquid handling and robotic, covering different areas of life science automation.
