Lakshmikant Bajpai, Deputy Research Director, Syngene International Ltd

Dr Bajpai has completed his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from CDRI, Lucknow. After working for couple of years with Wockhardt Ltd and Ranbaxy Research Labs Dr Bajpai went to University of Florida for his post doctoral research in the area of mass spectrometry where he developed the first ever LC/MS/MS method to prove the presence of anesthetic drugs (propofol and Fentanyl) in operating room air and to show the presence of Glucose in the exhaled breath of human volunteers which served as a lead for further research. He worked with CEDRA Corporation at Texas on Bioanalytical method development and with CV Therapeutics at CA for metabolite identification. After coming back to India in 2008 he assumed leadership role at Chem Biotek Pune to head the analytical division. He has extensive experience in the analytical/bioanalytical method development and structure elucidation of small molecules including metabolite identification utilizing MS, MS/MS and different 1D and 2D NMR techniques. He has authored more than 15 publications in international Journals and reviewed more than 40 publications for Journal of Chromatography B and Journal of American Society for Mass Spectrometry. Presently he is working as Deputy Research Director at Discovery Analytical Sciences group at BBRC..
