Rafael Taboryski's Biography



Rafael Taboryski, Professor, Technical University of Denmark

RT is associate professor and group leader at DTU Nanotech and member of the scientific coordination team of the department. RT is former project manager and Director, Consumables Technology at Sophion Bioscience with responsibility for the company’s development and subsequent production of microfluidic chips. In particular, RT has experience from management of interdisciplinary R&D projects in collaboration with industrial partners, and experience from both fundamental and applied research. The active research fields of RT are: methodologies related to mass replication of micro- and nanostructured polymer chips for biological applications, and methodologies related to replication of nanostructured functional surfaces. RT has published more than 63 scientific papers within micro- and nanotechnology.

We have demonstrated stretching of 1.2 Mbp DNA molecules in polymer nanofluidic chips fabricated by injection molding. The chips have a production time per chip and a unit price so low that they can be considered truly disposable.
