Jakub Dostalek, Researcher, Austrian Institute of Technology

Jakub Dostalek holds a project leader position at Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna (Austria). His research interests include nanomaterials, plasmonics, plasmon-enhanced spectroscopies, and polymer biointerfaces applied in biosensors for medical diagnostics and food control. Jakub Dostalek authored 6 book chapters and around 40 papers in peer review scientific journals that received more than 1000 citations.

Plasmon-enhanced fluorescence for amplification of fluorescence signal in assays will be discussed. Tailoring of this method enabling the analysis of protein biomarkers at low femtomolar concentrations and bacterial pathogens with 10 cfu/mL sensitivity will be reported.
