Davide Moscatelli, Assistant Professor, Politecnico di Milano

Ph.D. (Dottorato di Ricerca) in Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (cum laude), Politecnico di Milano, 2003-2006.
Degree in Chemical Engineering (Laurea cum laude), Politecnico di Milano (Italy), 2002.
2005-present: Assistant Professor (Ricercatore), Politecnico di Milano.
2007: Visting Professor, ETH Zurich, Institute for Chemical and Bioengineering, Zurich,(Switzerland).
Chair of one experimental lab at Dept. “G. Natta” of Politecnico di Milano. Referee for several ISI rated journals.
Biomedical-Physical Chemistry at Politecnico di Milano (2005-present).
Areas of Research and Expertise:
The main research interests concern the application of physical chemistry fundamentals to analyze industrial processes of chemical nature and the materials synthesis (organic, inorganic and polymers). The applications are related to industrial processes with chemical implications, polymers and inorganic materials for advanced technologies, and nanotechnology (primarily nanoparticles synthesis).
Publications:

Biodegradable and Biocompatible Comb-Like Polymers for Biomedical Applications

In this work biocompatible and biodegradable NPs, with tunable hydrophobicity and biodegradation kinetics, were synthesized using novel Comb-Like Polymers (CLB). These NPs satisfy requirements for biological purpose for intravenous drug delivery in terms of size, between 20 and 300 nm, particle size distribution, biodegradability and biocompatibility. A number of obtained results for imaging (in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo), cell tracking (stem cells), cellular uptake studies, drug loading (antitumorals), toxicity studies, degradation and release studies are reported.
