Rienk Nieuwland's Biography

Rienk Nieuwland, PI and Head of Laboratory of Experimental Clinical Chemistry/Vesicle Observation Center, University of Amsterdam

Rienk Nieuwland studied Biology and obtained his PhD at the University of Utrecht (Utrecht, The Netherlands). He is PI and Head of Laboratory of Experimental Clinical Chemistry / Vesicle Observation Center at the AMC of the University of Amsterdam. He coordinated the European Metrology Research Project METVES (www.metves.eu), chaired the Scientific Standardization Committee on Vascular Biology of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (2013-2017), is Member at Large of the Executive Board of the International Society of Extracellular Vesicles ( 2016-2017), is co-founder of the international EV Flow Cytometry Working Group (www.evflowcytometry.org ), and co-founder of the Dutch STW program Cancer-ID program (http://www.stw.nl/nl/content/p14-04-new-technology-monitoring-cancer-therapy-through-extracellular-vesicle-identity). He has a track record of over 200 manuscripts and book chapters on extracellular vesicles.
