Dr. Noriko Shimasaki had medical training in pediatrics before she was a faculty member in Department of Pediatrics at Keio University School of Medicine (Tokyo, Japan), where she treated patients with pediatric cancer as a pediatric oncologist. After her clinical service and a research training at Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden), she trained in the laboratory of Dr. Dario Campana at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis, TN) first and then at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, where she currently is a Goh Foundation Director of Advanced Cellular Therapy Laboratory. Dr. Shimasaki and her group develop production methods and manufacture genetically-modified immune cells for cancer treatments.
