Alan Wong's Biography

Alan Wong, Senior Scientist, CEA Saclay

Alan Wong received his PhD in chemistry at Queen’s University in Canada in 2004. His research was solid-state NMR spectroscopy applications to biomolecules. Following graduation, he moved to England to the University of Warwick, where he focused his research on the development of new methodologies for high-resolution solid-state NMR spectroscopy of quadrupole nuclei. In 2008, he joined the magnetic resonance lab in CEA Saclay in France as a visiting scientist. It is here where he gained interest in the development of micro-NMR spectroscopy and imaging. In 2011, he was appointed a senior researcher at the French national research center (CNRS). His current researches include the new adventure of developing micro-NMR tools for metabolic analysis of heterogenous samples such as biopsies, living small-organisms and whole cells.
