Stuart Ibsen's Biography



Stuart Ibsen, Research Associate, Moores Cancer Center

Dr. Stuart Ibsen received a Ph.D. in bioengineering from the University of California San Diego as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow working with Dr. Sadik Esener. He also received a second Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Hawaii. Stuart was a Cancer Therapeutics Training Program Postdoctoral Fellow at the Moores Cancer Center at the University of California San Diego with Dr. Michael Heller and a Salk Institute Pioneer Fund Postdoctoral Scholar at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies with Dr. Sreekanth Chalasani. He is currently a Research Associate at University College London in the Department of Chemical Engineering working with Dr. Stefan Guldin. His research interests include the dielectrophoretic recovery of exosomes and other cancer biomarkers, localized manipulation of cellular behavior including cancer cells and neurons, prodrug design and activation, and externally-activated nanoparticles for drug delivery.
