David Sachs, Assistant Professor, Genetics and Genomic Sciences, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

David Sachs is an Assistant Professor of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he develops micro-organ models and robotic systems within Dr. Kevin Costa’s lab. Previously he was a lead engineer at InvenSense, a MEMS semiconductor startup company.

We are developing a functional micro-organ model of the human cardiovascular system, containing iPSC-derived cardiac and vascular components linked in a circulatory system. In partnership with Space Tango, we will use this system on the ISS to model cardiovascular stiffness related diseases in microgravity.
