Ajay Kumar Pandey's Biography

Ajay Kumar Pandey, Scientist E, National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute

Dr. Pandey received his M.Sc. degree from Department of Biotechnology, Himachal Pradesh University in the year 1998. He did his Ph.D. from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pataiala in the year 2003. For his Ph.D., he worked on the auxin induced genes and their role during ectomycorrhizal symbiosis. He has seven years of post doctoral research experience in the area of plant molecular biology. For his post doctoral studies he has worked at Acadmia Sinica, Taiwan; University of Alabama and Iowa State University, USA. Currently he is working as scientist-D since 2011 at National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute. His current research areas include exploring the role of phytic acid for trait development in wheat by trageting its biosynthetic pathway and further exploring the role of phosphate/insotiol pyrophosphates hoemostais in cereal grains.
