Leanne De-Koning's Biography



Leanne De-Koning, Manager, Institut Curie

Dr. Leanne de Koning obtained her Master of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands). She moved to Institut Curie in Paris (France) for her PhD on chromatin dynamics and cancer in the laboratory of Dr. G. Almouzni. During her PhD, she discovered the Reverse Phase Protein Array (RPPA) technology in collaboration with Dr. Thierry Dubois. She joined the Translational Research Department of Institut Curie in 2009 to set up and lead an RPPA facility, which is now among the most important ones world-wide.

Reverse Phase Protein Arrays are a powerful tool to study protein expression and activation status in hundreds of samples. We applied this technology to study lobular and triple negative breast cancers with the aim to identify new prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
