Hamid Latifi's Biography



Hamid Latifi, Professor, Shahid Beheshti University

Professor Latifi got his B.S. degree in physics from California state university 1983.
He got his Master and Ph.D. from New Mexico state university in 1989 working on optical levitation and interaction of high energy laser beam with aerosols.
He did his postdoctoral research at Colorado state University in Fort Collins working on sodium Lidar for measurement of temperature and density of Na in Mesosphere.
He joined physics group in Shahid beheshti University ( SBU) in 1992 and at present is professor of physics at Laser and Plasma Research institute and department of physics at SBU.
He has published over 100 articles in various journals and conferences.

A numerical and experimental investigation was performed on separation of micro particles 1.5 (µm), 3 (µm) and 6 (µm) in a stair- shaped micro channel using insulator-based Dielectrophoresis (iDEP) mechanism at low DC total applied voltages of 90-110 (V).
