Joma Joy obtained her Ph.D in Biochemistry from the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany. Her research focused on functional and structural studies of signal transduction proteins involved in tumorigenesis. After graduation she did her postdoctoral training at the Burnham Medical Research Institute, USA. In 2008, she moved to Singapore and joined ETC as a research fellow. Currently, she is a group leader at ETC. The aim of the group is to support the identification of preclinical development candidates in the area of oncology and infectious disease. The group employs both biochemical and biophysical methods for studying drug target interaction and focuses on establishing new assay platforms.
