Matthias Nees's Biography



Matthias Nees, Group Leader, University of Turku

Dr. Matthias Nees has obtained his PhD from the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg (DKFZ). Since then, he has held various positions in translational oncology, including the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Bethesda/USA, Heidelberg University Hospital, the EMBL, and at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. Since 2011, he is affiliated as a group leader with the Centre for Biotechnology Turku in Finland. He currently coordinates the new High Content Screening Laboratory or HCSLab in Turku, as part of the Institute of Biomedicine, University of Turku/Finland.

This presentation will demonstrate the use of statistical and mathematical algorithms to quantitatively assess the most relevant and significant morphometric changes in tissue architecture upon drug exposure and genetic modifications.
