Alexander Mosig's Biography

Alexander Mosig, Lab Head, Biochip-based Organ Models, Jena University Hospital

Alexander S. Mosig is head of the Biochip-based Organ Models group at the Institute of Biochemistry II and Center for Sepsis Control and Care at Jena University Hospital. His work focuses on the emerging field of organoid tissue engineering and microfluidic biochip design. He is interested in the use of microfluidically-supported organoids as models of human inflammation. In particular he investigates the role of monocytes and macrophages in sepsis-related organ-dysfunction and tissue repair. Current research projects include the establishment of in vitro infection models and organoid biochips for sepsis-related multi-organ dysfunction.
