Maria Southall is a Deputy Editor at the Royal Society of Chemistry, working on the RSC portfolio of analytical journals: Lab on a Chip, Analyst and Analytical Methods. Maria has worked at the RSC for 5 years and has experience of working on a variety of journals; having been a Deputy Editor for Lab on a Chip since 2014. Before embarking on a career in scientific publishing, Maria obtained a PhD in Molecular Genetics at the University of Glasgow, UK and pursued a research career in model organism ageing.
