Camille Ettelaie's Biography

Camille Ettelaie, Lecturer in Biomedical Science, University of Hull

First degree in Biochemistry from University of Manchester, UK with subsequent PhD from King’s College London. I started working in the field of blood coagulation & haemostasis in 1984, and have been researching “tissue factor” biology as my main subject since 1987. I have been interested in the regulation of tissue factor, and its incorporation into microvesicles, and their properties for the past decade.

Incorporation of tissue factor into cell-derived microvesicles results in the release of procoagulant microvesicles. The incorporation of tissue factor into the microvesicles is regulated through mechanisms that include various elements within the cytoplasmic and transmembrane domain of this protein. The presentation will examine some of these known regulatory elements.
