Roy Overton's Biography

Roy Overton, VP, Laboratory Operations, CytoVas, LLC

Dr. Roy Overton joined CytoVas in May of 2015 as Vice President of Laboratory Operations. Dr. Overton has over 35 years of experience in flow cytometry, having worked in academia, industry and government. Most recently, he was President of Partec North America which he co-founded and managed from its inception in 2008 through its recent sale to Sysmex, a global leader in hematology. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey after serving as Director of Flow Cytometry at the National Cancer Institute – Frederick Cancer Research Facility. After graduating from the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University College of Medicine) in 1979, he managed the first flow cytometry / cell sorter laboratory in the Philadelphia area at the Institute for Cancer Research at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Dr. Overton has published over 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers and he served for 10 years as the Secretary/Treasurer of the International Clinical Cytometry Society.
