Stine Dam Henriksen's Biography



Stine Dam Henriksen, Researcher, Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Aalborg University Hospital

Dr. Henriksen obtained her MD degree from Aarhus University, Denmark. She is now a junior doctor taking her specialist training in abdominal surgery at the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Aalborg University Hospital Denmark. In 2012 she became part of the well established research unit at the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery and Molecular Diagnostics, Aalborg University Hospital Denmark. Her primary research focus is DNA hypermethylation as a blood-based marker for pancreatic cancer.

DNA promoter hypermethylation is known to be a part of early carcinogenesis. Preliminary results suggest alterations in cell-free DNA promoter hypermethylation to have potential of being markers for pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
