Assistant Professor,
UCSI University
Crystale Lim Siew Ying is currently an Associate Professor at UCSI University’s Faculty of Applied Sciences. She is also the present Honorary Secretary of the Malaysian Society of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MSMBB). Crystale earned a BSc (Hons.) in Biomedical Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2005, and in 2010 went on to obtain a PhD in Molecular Medicine, also from UPM. During her PhD with Associate Professor Dr Chong Pei Pei, Crystale had worked on host-pathogen interactions in invasive candidiasis, including from a transcriptomics aspect, using an in vitro model of Candida albicans infection on endothelial cells. Currently, she is interested in the mechanisms of molecular cell-cell communication in the control of cell growth and cell function in tumorigenesis, as well as in the regulation of virulence factors in pathogens.
