Lei Li's Biography

Lei Li, Assistant professor, School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Washington State University

Dr. Lei Li is currently an Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the Washington State University. My research mainly focuses on the mobile point-of-care technology (MPOCT), precision engineering, optical manufacturing, micro/nano manufacturing, and micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). In the field of MPOCT, we have developed a serial of ultra-low-cost smartphone opto-sensing platforms with our innovative manufacturing methods for diagnostics/detection and published in peer-reviewed journals.

We have developed a series of opto-sensing platforms that cover a wide range of applications. Especially, we have developed an ultra low-cost miniaturized multichannel smartphone opto-sensing platform with high accuracy and sensitivity. Our unique opto-mechanical system design and manufacturing process made our platforms appropriate for low-cost in-field applications.
