Manjula Das's Biography

Manjula Das, Principal Investigator, Mazumdar Shaw Center for Translational Research (MSCTR)

In India and in biology Dr. Manjula Das is a rare example of a serial entrepreneur coming back to academia to quench her acute thirst of science while still translating her and other’s work through a company.

She has been trained in Molecular Biology, Immunology and Cell Biology during her PhD days at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. During her post-doctoral training she gained experience in in vivo models of cancer, genomics and bioinformatics at McGill University, Canada, Rennes- France and MIT, USA. Since 2001, she has been working in the area of drug discovery and development in many companies. In addition to reagent and therapeutic antibody development her expertise has been in vivo and in vitro assay development for bio-therapeutics and regulatory submission.

Dr. Manjula Das has been a serial entrepreneur being in the founding team of three companies. Currently she holds the position of Principal Investigator at Mazumdar Shaw Center for Translational Research (MSCTR). At MSCTR she leads a team of researchers in the throbbing area of Tumor Immunology. She still is associated with her company, Beyond Antibody, which offers specialized services to BioPharma for regulatory submission.
